Re: upgrade to disc brakes
I'm glad someone asked that cause I am going the other way with my 58, I have disc brakes on front and want to go to original, do I need the total kit like the book shows at C.C. or what? A pic of all parts needed would be a help or a yes or no on the above at C.C., as for the up grade to disc, if your not concerned with judging or resale do as you like but keep the original setup if original for future sale of the car or if you would like to put them back on. Thanks Brad.- Top

Re: upgrade to disc brakes
I've been working on a '60 that has a front disc brake kit. It came with a dual reservoir master cylinder as well, and a proportioning valve (I think that is actually what it is). It's the same kit that many catalog vendors sell.
It has been nothing but trouble, and the car hasn't even been on the road yet. I "think" that last night we finally got all the leaking connections to stop leaking and it's now bled of air. I'll see what happens over time and if it starts to slowly leak again. You would not believe how many times we've tightened fittings, bled the system and even replaced pieces in an effort to troubleshoot this.
Just a word of caution from someone who has been messing with one for a while. The car owner has called the vendor a few times, who "can't believe we're having so much trouble with it."
Good luck,
