I'm checking documentation on a 63 Vette. It has a dealer order copy that measures 6 1/8" x 8 1/8" with both tracking strips(perforated strips on sides with holes to drive for printing) 6 1/8" x 5 1/8" without the tracking strips. It is titled "REGULAR COMMERCIAL and TRUCK" on the top with a 5 in red. It also says CHEV. 200M (REV. 3/60) PRINTED IN U.S.A. Is this correct? Thanks for your imput and knoledge!!

Stan --Have the same thing on a photocopy of a # 5 copy I got from Jimmy Blakely for '63 # 9035. In fine print on the detachable perforated edge, it says Moore Business Forms. This subject was discussed a way back, and there is an explanation which escapes me at the moment.- Top

Now that I think of it, believe it was a simple case of the plant running out of one type of form and the front office substituting another. In 1965, the St. Louis facility was assembling passenger, truck, Corvair 95 (untill Dec'64) and Corvette. Don't have the mix for '63.

Re: 63 Corvette Order Copy
Stan, I believe it is not an Order copy. It is not a Build Sheet. As I recall it is Carbon Copy 5 that was created at the end of the line around the same time the window sticker was printed. It should have the actual production date, key code, and etc, etc.
The trailer driver left Copy 5 with the dealership when he delivered the car.
Post a picture please. If it is what I think it is, it's the holey grail of birth certificates for a 63.Last edited by Harry S.; November 15, 2009, 05:39 AM.

In the box titled "Additional Options" below where you type in your post, click on the "manage attachments" button. That will bring up another box - click on "browse", then browse to the image location on your computer, click "open" at the bottom of that box, then click on "upload" in the first box, and you'll see confirmation of the upload in a few seconds. Then when you click on "submit reply", the image will show up as a thumbnail below your post, which will pop up at its full size when someone clicks on it.- Top
