I have a 63 SWC, and have replaced the differential yoke seal three times and it continues to leak. It seams to leak right after driving the car. The fluid level is correct and it only leaks at the driveshaft yoke. Does anyone have a suggestion, as to the cause.

Re: 1963 Rear differential leak
Arthur,
If the yoke has a groove where the seal rides you can purchase a seal with the sleeve for the yoke collar.
I bet your leak is coming from the splined shaft on the yoke and pinion gear. This area has to be sealed when installing a new seal or the assembly will leak for sure. Don't ask me how I know...- Top

Re: 1963 Rear differential leak
Pinion seal leaks are usually from:- No #2 Permatex on the pinion splines
- Groove in the pinion yoke OD, as mentioned speedy sleeves avail- I use them all the time
- cheap seal. I found seals in kits or from parts stores are cheap and fail. I use only CR/SKF (USA) or National(mexico made now)
- I have a box full of new seals from kits that I had used for years but after one failure I just box them up. If you want to try one you can have one. I would use the CR though.
