    Undercoat removal

Is it possible to remove undercoat and save the sometime job number chalk marking in the right front wheel well, if there? See Pro Team L88 picture. How so if it can be done?

No way remove that paint. You could always cover it and work around it, I would leave it alone. That would be my intention. You probably could do it but I wouldn't risk it. Is it chalk or crayon by the way. Stewy

      Dale,

I'm quite sure that the undercoating is supposed to be there.
You'd be removing one original item to show another one.

Are we talking about the external finish on the inner guard or the undercoat. Or sound proofing paint which I'm not sure if the L88 has. Stewy

If we are talking about 1967, the writing must be crayon. I discovered mine while washing off the road grime with soap and water. I am sure chalk would have been gone. There was no undercoat in that location on my Calif. delivered car. Dale

            Re: Undercoat removal

The factory undercoating in the wheel wells was applied before the car was blacked out. That undercoating is almost impossible to dulpicate today. Most aftermarket undercoating is a rubberizes material that is NOT correct. I would clean with something like Simple Green and a soft brush and recoat with the black out paint of your choice.
