1970 Tank Sticker / Window Sticker Data

Well I finally got around to extracting the tank sticker on my 70, VIN 531. The good news is the paper was 95% there. The bad news is it was heavily stained with gas. The good news is that by using a flashlight and magnifying glass, I was able to read the info on the tank sticker. I then drew by hand the tank sticker that illustrates the data.

Data I found most interesting was the tank sticker data that is also on the window sticker. This includes:
    1) Zone/Dealer (02/547) Zele Chevrolet, Torrington CT
    2) Ident Number (247945)
    3) Order Number (KBL236)

Also of interest is the "31" and "44" scrawled on the tank sticker. "31" being the last two digits of the VIN and "44" being the body job number. There are numerous "44"s scrawled in crayon on various body panels.

For reference I attached photos of the window sticker and tank sticker including the my hand drawn tank sticker "guide".

Nice tank sticker. Is that the original window sticker?? It looks a bit fresh for 39 years old...

My tank sticker survived but not as nice and clean. Still can't believe it is legible. I'm keeping mine on the original tank in my basement. A copy will go on the new tank.

    What's you plan?
