I had my 1963 judged last fall. Although I was told I have the best quality reproduction carpet, I received deducts for both the carpet weave and heel pad (only 35 rib depressions). Does anyone make an accurate reproduction that will not result in a deduct?

Re: 1963 Carpet Weave and Heel
Although its not for a 63 - same problems so look over this;
https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...carpet+correct
Even if you have original carpet bet it would get hit on condition loosing just as much. (sorry only 64 pictures which is a different animal)- Top

Re: 1963 Carpet Weave and Heel
Millard, If you ever get a chance to attend Bill Sangrey's seminar on carpet/etc please do so.
Bill said no one makes a 100% correct carpet for your car.
So who did you buy your carpet from? JD- Top

Re: 1963 Carpet Weave and Heel
I got my carpet from Custom Auto carpets- they seem to have the best available at this time. But it is not totally correct with respect to the heel pad. Most interior judges can tell an original weave from a reproduction so I agree there isn't much you can do except take the points on originality and gain condition points on the nice new carpet.- Top
