    Corvette Brochures

I have three slick Corvette Brochures that I received over the past 10-15 years as direct mailings from GM. They are C5 related but don't seem to be tied to any particular model year. I would be interested in any info that members might have on purpose and distribution of these brochures. They are not the sales brochures available from the dealer.

"Corvette Returns to Racing" features the C5-R and its relation to the C5. Its in a folder with a simulated seatbelt securing it.

"Building The Next Corvette" again features the C5. It contains individual short stories about developing the C5 from Dave Hill and his Leadership Team. Its printed in a slick tri-fold format and encased in a heavy cardboard folder.

"Corvette Tested to extremes" is also a C5 brochure. It describes the extraordinary amount of performance development and testing that the C5 Corvette went through to validate its performance.

    Hi John,

I also have "Building the Next Corvette" it was given as a gift for participating in focus group research on the C5 program. The one I have includes a personalized thank you letter. I have seen a couple out there-one at Carlisle this year.

The one on the upper right is for the 1997 Corvette. I can't remember the specific year of the others without looking at mine at home. These were target mailings to Corvette owners or those who may have gotten on a list at an auto show or automotive event. They were no available in showrooms. They were specifically target pieces to create interest for potential buyers.

I have those three also and received them as a mailing as Tom has indicated. When attending Bloomington Gold or the ALMS races at Elkhart Lake there is usually a Chevy booth that gives you a t-shirt or something in exchange for filling out a questionaire. A few weeks later, similar promotional pieces arrive. I just received two for the '09 Corvette in the last several weeks. Not sure how collectible all this stuff will ever be, but I seem to save it all...

          Hi,
I received 3 pieces of literature too. I saved them unopened thinking that that would ensure their value and I'd be able to sell them some day and retire.
          Well, that hasn't happened yet!
          Regards,
