Re: 67 Screwdriver just sold!!
Talking about the 67 screwdriver, how many of you caught the "67 BB screwdriver" at Carlisle??? Something like 12-13" long!!I can't remember (CRS) who it was that had it but I'm pretty sure he was a member here.

Re: 67 Screwdriver just sold!!
My Great Grand Father would be proud of the mark-up. Most likely cost them 5 or 10 cents to make, sell to GM for 25 cents and everybody's happy. Now WHY did my Grandfather not go into the business with his Father? As the world turns. Bill Irwin.- Top

I have no idea, but when I spotted that on the table, I had to take a pic. No one would believe me that a simple screwdriver would be worth that much!
I wonder if that's one of those "priceless" air filters behind it?

Re: 67 Screwdriver just sold!!
sucker born every minute and a fool is soon parted with his money, I would not admire someone who had an original screwdriver, big deal, I would just think they were missing a few screws and should use the screwdriver to replace thembut to each his own

You think those are expensive, wait till you see the screws, especially the ones with the heads that were originally buggered up on the way down the production line......- Top

What am I missing here? This has been in my toolbox and my father's before me since who knows when. Until now it was just a 50 cents hardware store throwaway. Not any more!!!

Re: 67 Screwdriver just sold!!
I just went downstairs to my home tool box and found another one with the Irwin and USA writing on it. My guess is that they are either larger or smaller than the "rare" ones. What a great country!

Re: 67 Screwdriver just sold!!
I'm guessing but I think that Mr Irwin would tell you that when they made wooden handled screw drivers. They made them in all kinds lengths, stiles and colors.
By the way this is a original 67 bolt on screw driver.
