    Placement of NCRS logo on windshield

    I have not placed the NCRS sticker on the windshield yet and would like to know if there is a recommended placement? I searched the archives and only learned the location that several members chose.

    Mine are on the passenger side windshield near the bottom. That seems to be the most popular place.

      Put mine on drivers side vent glass, being careful not to cover date code. Looks good there. Bill

        Doesn't make any difference. It did not come off the assembly line with one.

          I put both of mine on the quarter window of the hard top.

            Put it where you feel most comfortable with it -- just don't put it over a date code. I have seen them on the back window on C2 & C3 Corvettes, although most folks put the decal on the windshield someplace out of the direct line of sight of the driver.

              Re: Placement of NCRS logo on windshield

              I was a little hesitant about putting a decal, sticker, etc. on an ORIGINAL piece of glass or plexiglas (I mentioned plexiglas if you have a removable hardtop). Obviously you don't want to cover a date code, and you don't want to accidently scratch, etch, damage, etc., anything if you ever decided to remove the decal/sticker. Plexiglas scratches VERY easily. Glass can be scratched too. I ended up putting mine on the windshield, in the lower right hand corner. I put it there because my windshield is not original glass.

              I applied the decal for purposes of gaining a couple extra points during flight judging. It was my intent to remove the decal when I got home because it's not "factory." A few days later, after the judging was over and I'd driven home, I decided to remove the decal. The spot on the windshield where I had applied the decal was a little awkward to get at, curved, and just inches above my ORIGINAL dash which is covered in ORIGINAL vinyl. I looked at the razor blade in my hand and then reconsidered. Needless to say, three years later, the decal is still on the windshield. I certainly support NCRS, so I figured, "Whatever."

              All I'm saying is this: Put the decal on non-original glass/plexiglas if possible, and put it in a position where it can be EASILY removed if you ever decide to do so. Good luck.

                Just my two cents worth;

                I have applied different stickers over the years on different cars I have owned. One thing I have learned is to never put them in your usual line of sight. In a Vette, you cover your left side well with your side view mirror, but for most of us with older Vettes, the right hand side requires a quick head turn to the right, specially for the rear quarter panel blind spot when the top is up or on. That's why I always choose the left side windows. On the windshield, I always try to place any sticker, transducer or diabled plaquered behind the rear view mirror so as to cause as little vision interference as possible. The only exception I made was in the State of Illinois (you know what I mean) for the local Village Tax sticker and that position was dictated. Many other states and local authorities have these stickers, and yet also outlaw any other items hanging from the mirrors such as Fuzzy Dice or religious symbols. These laws are seldom enforced except when you get stopped for some other reason and they decide to throw the book at you because you have a red Vette.

                  I put mine on the driver's side windshield because my state's inspection sticker is on the passenger side. The inspection sticker gets scraped off and replaced yearly. I figured that if another sticker were over there, the inspector might accidentally nick it when s/he replaced it. I wouldn't put it on Plexiglass. If you put it on a side window, you can hide it, if you so choose.

                    Have always put them on the Drivers side vent window. Designed not to hide the date code. Find when we go to car shows invariably someone will Question NCRS logo. Good advt. explaining the club. The drivers side of my 67 tends to be the first approach people peer at.

                      Jim, removing decals from glass without doing damage can be done by applying hot water to the decal (I do it with a wet wash cloth pressed against the decal) and also with removers such as "Goo Gone". I just make certain to cover any area I don't want water or removers to contact. In TX we have windshield stickers for registration safety inspection. We replace them annually and so far I have had no accidents on padded or painted interior pieces. I have not attached anything to Plexiglas---too chicken.

                        Yep, unfortunately that's the side that a car thief approaches, too!

                          Yeah, being deep in Colo mnts. We tend to have our pre-64 Winchester 30/30 at the wait.

                              Again, Thank you for your responses and personal experiences. I am leaning towards the drivers front corner now that I know how to safely remove the sticker if necessary. I'm going to wait a bit more to see if there are any other opinions that might sway my choice.
