    GM C-5 "Company" Corvettes...

I have a 2003 Z06, which I bought new at a Chevy dealer. They were up front with me about this car and said it was a GM executive car, with 175 miles put on it. So technically speaking, is it a one or two owner car? Thanks, PT

I'd say you got the first title, making you the first owner. GM owns all of them before they are sold to the dealer (or directly to you.)

      Patrick,
It was a GM company car but not for long . It was built in October 2002 then used for a show or special event of some type in December and delivered to you on 1/9/03.

GM sales managers are charged with allocating these cars to dealers at an additional discount after events like car shows are over. I'm sure Sport Chevrolet was was more than happy to take this car into inventory and sell it to you in a matter of days.

If it were a normal GM PEP (product evaluation program) or an executive car it would have been in GM service for a much longer time and mileage.

      hope this helps

Thanks John and Tom, you got that right. Glad to hear it's a "one owner". Way back when, I drove over to Sport Chevrolet on my lunch hour and they were just unloading this one from the car carrier and I bought it then and there. When I first saw it, I figured it was used, since the window sticker had been taken off and put in the glove box. My boss was p*ssed when I came back two hours late from lunch with a new car. They gave me a good deal though. PT

I ran the GM VISS on your car and it does show as a Special Event Used Car. Probably used as a show car for an auto show in the MD area. ( Just a guess ) Warranty start date shows 12-26-02. Pre delivery inspection was done at QEK Global Solutions in Warren, MI. Another routine warranty operation was performed at Bogley Chevrolet in Thurmont, MD in 2005. I see no issues with the car in the GM system.

You are the first retail owner. Being a company car usually means it was driven a short time, used for a show or event. The warranty probably started and the dealer got the car at a reduced rate. Company cars often do not qualify for rebates or special financing. That's it. other than that, you are the true first retail owner. Looks like a cool ride, enjoy it !!

Thanks for the information Tom. Is there any chance that you could copy the VISS and paste it to an email and send it to me? That would be really cool to add to it's so called "history". PT
