Well on to Main Body coloring.
Here's the stripping of the dichomate in a muriatic acid solution followed by a buffering in SP degreaser, then a baking soda solution to be sure:

You have to be careful with muriatic and potmetal. Muriatic eats zinc, also cadmium, and chrome. So it is only a 15 second dip in the muriatic solution (cut 3 to 1 with distilled water). Then thoroughly buffer and a dry off. Then into the beadblaster:

Then after a couple of times pickling and beadblasting you are ready to make the dip into the dichromate solution:

The dichromate is very temperature sensitive, I use an aquarium heater to keep it at a constant 80d F.
Then the dip for a max of 20 seconds:

It looks a little light at first, but it darkens with a little time. See the next post for the finish an hour later.
