    Body weight of 1963 Coupe

I am just about ready to lift my 63 coupe body from the frame after finally getting all mounts unseized, what a job. Can anyone tell me how much the body w doors attached will weigh approx?

It appears that no one knows for sure, so I'll guess. Having removed mine, I'd guess ~800 lbs. Does anyone know for sure?

I don't know for sure either but I'd say you are about right.

Doug: If the glass and I/P, steering column, door hardware etc are still installed, I would calculate that your coupes lift weight is well in excess of 1200 lbs.
Just the body alone (with bird cage) without the doors installed, would be around 800 lbs, with bare doors 900 lbs.

my john deere has no problem at all in lifting a 63 coupe body. totally styripped, i'd guess about 650 lbs as myself and 3 other guys have strained but lifted other midyear coupe bodys before Mr John Deere came along. we were a good bit younger then also. mike
