ReChromed Bumpers
I just got my Front Bumper Rechromed. The shop said I should coat/paint the back of the bumper. What is correct for judging if I paint or coat them with clear is that ok or is it a cause for deduction? If it ok to paint or coat them what is recommended.

Correct would be to leave them just as they came from plating....... nothing. -

not that familiar with the c-3 bumpers but the c1 and c2 bumper insides were not painted when they left the chrome plater. however, i always give them a coat of satin aluminum as i'd rather take the deduction(if the judges catch it) rather than have the insides rusty looking after a couple of car washes. with a c-3, i'd guess its tougher for the c3 judges to inspect the insides than it would be for the c1 and c2 judges to do so. mikeComment

I'm with Mike on the rust issue. I painted the insides of mine with clear
POR -15.
I had some left after a project and thought what the heck. Five years later and no rust.Comment
