    1960

    Hi Folks
I purchased Vin 00867S103730 This summer from a fellow in southern Indiana, going thur the hoops of fixing it up. The serial plate is attached to Steering Column. Any idea's of staining carpet versus buying new? Also looking for new grab handle & carboard liners for inside trunk. Any help greatly appreciated. Maybe someone out there knows this car, last title change 09/04/88.
    Thanks
    Dave

Dave lots of questions. No1 Carpet you can buy new carpet pretty cheap from lots of places. Is there a reason you are wanting to stain it. Is it to keep the authenticity of the old carpet ? Zip, Corvette Central and Paragon etc all sell them. A good quality carpet brand is Al Knoch interiors. Grab handles truck liners sell in the obove companies and if your after Nos start hunting through E bay. Stewy

Dave, if the carpet is original please keep it as a reference as to what original looks like in all areas. I am still unhappy that I threw my original away when I replaced it in '65. 'same with my soft top fabric and pads, etc.

            Dave -

The serial number should be on the column. That change began late Dec 59 I believe. My car, #2348 is also on the Column and it is a very early January production.
