    Window Post Channel Felt

I replaced the channel weatherstrip in both door posts. The windows do not fit into the channels as they are raised but instead mash the sides down into the channel. Should the window slide neatly inside the channel formed by the felts? The windows roll up with the front edge at the top being away from the channel but swings forward into the channel when fully raised.
    Thanks, Dan

That sounds right with the angle of the glass while rolling up the window. i have had the problem more with the window fuzzies on the reveal moulding and the inside garnish moulding than the felt liner in the post. I would try to take off the inside garnish and see if it still binds. At the top eventually part of the window frame should go into the front felt. Does it seem to bind at all when you roll down the window towards where the fuzzies connect to the front window felt channel?

The channels should be flat against the back of the door post. Did you put the rivets in place into the window post with the felt?

      Jim,
The windows roll up and down easily without binding on the sides or in the mechanism. The problem appears to be with the felt channel on the doorpost. I replaced them using all new screws and rivets as I had removed the post from the door. The felts which line either side of these channels caves in when the window closes instead of lining the inner and outer sides of the frame along the front edge of the window. I was considering applying some weatherstrip adhesive to bond these to the metal channel to keep them from collapsing when they come into contact with the window.
      Thanks, Dan
