    Holley Carb Restoration-Part 2-Disassembly

Well, I got the carb, and figured on restoring it the replacement 3810 on the shelf as well as the 751 I have on my 67. I have plenty of spare parts from on different vintage carbs hanging around the garage as well as almost every Holley book produced.

It is just great to have another correct assembled carb in front of you when you take apart one of these carbs. That way you know where all the parts go and how they are oriented on reassembly.

Here's the basic disassembly of a Holley carb:

I have done this before with carbs, and have found that to keep things in some sort of order get one of these little plastic boxes with compartments to keep all the parts from various areas of the carb together:

After disassembly, I then took an inventory of parts and ordered a bunch of new parts from, none other than, Chicago Carburetor by phone (and got great delivery service at a reasonable price). I also got this NOS metering plate on ebay:

    So, I guess I'm on a roll.

    Having fun,
