In searching for a pair a 67 3171489 F41 shock I came across a pair of NOS shocks that are 3171409. The interesting thing is the barrel of the shock is the same diameter as an F41 [2.25],the shaft size is same diameter, they are dated in the standard formate [10C68], and made by Delco. Although they are sidemounted style and do not have the "big hat" they are remarkably similar to the F41. I was going to convert them to F41's by adding the "big hat" washers and knocking out the sidemout bolts, but before I alter them I felt it might be wise to see where they were used. These are obviously a heavy duty shock and I was wondering if anyone out there might know what vehicle they were used on. Thanks for any assistance in advance.

I can't confirm it, but I believe these shocks were used on some 1967-1968 pick-up trucks and, maybe, other trucks as well.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
