I am still fighting this $&*(%^ windshield on my 60.
Now in order to get the wrinkles out of the corners I had to work them outward but then I have excess for the top, 2 inches extra. So I did the unthinkable, and tried a splice. Turned out OK. Now, trying to get the header pushed onto the weatherstrip is impossible. I have a great rubber lube made by Turtle Wax for tires. Best I have ever tried. Highly recommended for windshield install. Is this Corvette Central weatherstrip just too darn hard. I read all the online articles on this subject. One aricle says to get the header metal (channel only) onto the weatherstrip and POP on the Molding. Apparently this author is smoking Crack. Popping on this header molding onto the channel ranks right up there with most frustrating old corvette jobs to do. Unless you have a mint car. Can someone measure the inside width of their Header Channel with Molding Intact for me to compare to mine? When I install the strip into the channel, the edges are almost touching each other, tight. Who sells the best fitting weatherstrip for these old corvettes? NOS sounds great. How much? Thanks for reading and hearing me rant. DG
