If someone is interested in reproducing the Freedom battery I would contact Saul Rosa(spanish speeking) @ Battery ElSalvador 011 503 281 7777 or Battery Sales Miami.Fla. This information came from Renko Battery in Belize City,Belize when I was purchasing tar from them.

Re: Correct Battery for a '91

I tried to come up with some options/ideas for a 'correct' replacement for my '84 battery as well, and there is nothing out there. I've owned it since new and before Bloomington Gold last June I put in another (4th) Delco replacement battery. This was a preventive maintenance move as the last one was 5 years old. My original silver and black label one was gone within 6 months of the car when new due to failure, and the warranty replacement at the time was not even the same. The silver/black were assembly line only, from what I've been able to find out. The C4's may never be reproduced, from what I'm seeing...

I have posted the battery I have in the car currently.
What deduction could I be looking at here????
I dont think I will ever settle untill I find a original and getting it working....!

Need a green bag with the locking lugs also to complete the madness....!!!
I have a clear bag with black letters, but i'm not sure if that it ok.

        Thanks

I looked up my judging sheets from the 2007 Midwest Regional and my deduct for the battery was 10 of 20 for originality and 0 deduct for condition. The judges notes said "service replacement (wrong battery)" This will likely become an automatic deduct on C4's unless replicas are produced. It would be nice to at least have the correct colors/verbage on a repro label available so appearance would be right, despite the battery itself not being an original.
I also found my receipt for the original warranty replaced battery from 9/27/83. It lists the replacement as part # 1980963. Cost was $63.66. Those were the days when the cost of the warranty part(s) appeared on the customer copy of the receipts.
