    Glove Box lock rekeying

I have located an original spare tire lock and b key that operates properly to pass the operations section of judging. Does anyone know who can now change my lock from my glove box to match the proper key to the spare tire lock?
    Thanks for the advice.

    Gary'
Remove glove box lock and bring it to any locksmith with your spare tire "B" key. He should be able to re-key the glove box cylinder to match the spare tire lock cylinder. I have had it done several times.

        Gary,
The best in the business is fellow member Pete Lindahl. He may post to your message but if he doesn't search his name in member list and drop him an e-mail. Petes a NCRS judge so he knows what you need. He did my keys (as well as those of many other members), you won't find anyone better!!

Long Island Corvette has a uncut cylinder #13-15B for $15. I have the procedure to cut the cylinder to your key. It was to big to upload. If you EMAIL me I can EMAIL it back to you.

I can also vouch for Pete. Did all my keys. Came out perfect and at what I consider a reasonable price. I even paid to much and he sent me a check back in less then a week!

                    Hey Gary,

I agree with Harry. You should call Pat Kraus up. I see you are up in New England. Pat's in Maryland. I've been to his place and had LOTS of locks re-keyed/matched. He's got all the right Briggs and Stratton blanks and will stamp codes in the keys for you too. He'll sell you original spare tire/ glovebox locks also. Very reasonable prices and a superb individual to deal with.

                      Re: Glove Box lock rekeying

My local locksmith said this is real straightforwad and will make my glove box and spare tire lock use the same key for $20.I plan to do it shortly.

I also would like to have my passenger door lock rekeyed to the same key that currently operates the ignition and driver side door. This is for my 65. How much is involved to remove a door lock ? I lost 10 points in Ops last month and want to fix this.

                        Re: Glove Box lock rekeying

Piece of cake to do. If old Peter can't do it a good locksmith can.
Story: Two weeks ago I had all the locks in my shack rekeyed. Nice locksmith came to the house. Very quiet man so i asked him if he minded me asking a question. He said go for it. He opened this huge box that had a huge assortment of various lengths and colors of "pins".
He just changed the pins (what are they called) and gave me huge bill.
Service calls ain't cheap you know.
Meanwhile if Peter can't do it no one can. And he's quite affordable. The font of his numbers he stamps on the keys is dead nuts.
Ask him about nice round original key from a 63 glove box. Real deal. JD
