69 SB Dip Stick Tube

What is the over all length of the dip stick tube for a 69 sb? I am in need of an original as my has snapped at the block. I ask this question because I bought one with the dipstick on the internet which was only 7 1/2 inches tip from tip which is too short.

Looking back I did not ask the right questions as it was presented as an original for a 350 sb. Shame on me!

The original dip-stick tube for all 1969 Corvette small blocks was GM #3876784. This tube had a DEVELOPED LENGTH of 9-1/4" from the flange which seats on the block to the upper end. This is the critical dimension. The length below the flange is about the same for all small block dipsticks. The GM #3876784 also had a swaged down upper end. In other words, the OD of the tube was reduced for about the upper 2", or so.

In July, 1974 the GM #3876784 was discontinued and replaced by the GM #3865664. The latter is the same in length. However, it lacks the reduced OD upper end.
