Can anyone tell me where I can find the correct Pinchwelt for a red 63 coup interior. I Bought a complete interior fro Al Knoch but it does not come with pinchwelt. I Emailed them and they could not help. I also looked in the archieves with no luck. Look like I need 5ft.

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
Hi Terry
You might try one of the older auto upholterers in your area.
Pinchwelt was quite common to those cars back in the day.
In addtion to the dogleg area, be sure your order includes enough length to cover the exposed front edge of your seat frames.
Hoefully others will contribute as well.
Good Luck

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
As I recall, there is a question as to whether the '63 seat bracket pinch welt is black for all interior colors, or matches the interior.
I've only seen black - but defer to whatever the judging manual says.- Top

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
Are we all talking about the same area of the car?? I have a vert and the pinchwelt that trims by the rear qtr panel is saddle, the same color as my interior. The 4 pieces on the seat bottom brackets are black.

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
our 63 roadster(had it 30+ years) has red pinchwelt on door jambs and black on the seat frames.our 63 ZO6 has door jamb pinchwelt also matchoing interior color.i had a 63 coupe that was missing its pinchweld. got a suitable replacment at the local trim shop but it was about 10% smaller than an original pinchwelt.mike- Top

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
Kim I looked at that but wasn't sure black would dye to the correct red. Also found flexible plastic with metal core and fabric texture surface pinchwelt at Metro Moulded Parts Inc. They say it is for 1960 era cars. Not sure which way to go or try both. But mine was red!- Top

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
Here's a picture I just took of my '63 seat bracket. The black Pinchwelt can be seen on the leading edge of the bracket.
My interior is red, but the seats were recovered years ago in black vinyl.Attached Files- Top

Re: 63 red pinchwelt
My 63 white/red had red pinch welts. I still have 2 or 3 of the old original ones around here. When I bought the car in 79 it had been sitting since '70.
But since we already covered this subject in 100's of posts I gave in and installed nice black ones that I got from an NCRS member on the east coast of FL. Believe his name was Jorjorian but not sure.
By the way it's almost impossible to duplicate the originals pinch welt as the construction and grain are quite unique to that era.
Where do the 4 pcs short ones go Terry?
I can see why you couldn't figure it out because of the stacked seats in Dr. Mike's picture. LOL.
They go on the extreme front edge of the seat frame.
See the aims for a nice pic. JD- Top
