I am considering trailering my '61 to the Florida NCRS show. Does anyone have a contact where I could rent an enclosed one for the trip?

Re: Trailer versus Drive
I've never heard of anyone renting an enclosed hauler. The few times I've loaned mine to other local chapter members it's come back with fresh dents and scrapes from 'novice' drivers learning how to park and pull into gas stations...- Top

Re: Trailer versus Drive
Richard,
Have you talked to other members of your Chapter who might be going to the same show - for the Boston National our Chapter got 6 guys together and we rented a whole truck from InterCity it worked out great and turned out to be very cheap.
Trying to rent or borrow a trailer many times proves to be impossible mainly due to insurance issues. If you do manage to rent a whole truck check out the Florida Companies first as they can take you down and not wait around doing nothing until the show is over, if they are based in Florida they could be doing other things prior to your pick up which could make your price lower.
PS - When we went to Boston we also had all 6 cars picked up and dropped off at the same spot - one stop shopping each way also earned us a cheaper rate. Good Luck.- Top

Re: Trailer versus Drive
The dealer I bought my enclosed trailer now rents them too. When I bought my trailer I was told he couldn't find an insurance company to cover them. Since, he has found coverage.
Kind of a long trip for you, I'm in PA. Check you local dealers

Re: Trailer versus Drive
Just like Kevin's good tip, call a trailer dealer. I was visiting with our local Featherlite dealer, and he rents enclosed Fetherlites. Didn't get a price, but check out a dealer.
Good luck, Ridge.Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .- Top
