    First SWC in Hong Kong

    Greetings again.

I previously posted on another thread regarding door jambs and some members asked for other photo's of the car. I initially wanted to take some pics with some local HK scenes in the background but it might be months before I get the chance. So here are some pics that I've managed to take so far.

It's my first Corvette (first American car, not many here because it's RHD). Please feel free to criticize where appropriate. I like constructive criticisms and am looking to improve!

      Eryck

I travel to HK about 4 times a year and stay at the Langham Place in Mongkok...on Shanghai.

It would be great to see your car!

      Congratulations...beautiful car!

You should definitely take some pictures with HK iconic locations..Big Buddha, Victoria Harbour, Jade Market, old time Shanghai barber shop, The peak, street market and especially the local people!

It's been a long time since I was last in HK (British colony era)... Is Gaddi's restaurant still in business at the Pennisula Hotel and does the Pennisula still host their high tea service?

That is awesome !!!! Now you know why they didn't put a radio in that car........ right ???? Those old radios would never pick up Hong Kong stations !!

Thanks for finally posting the pictures !! Welcome to the SWC family !!

Nice car. Is the best road to get up to speed the road to the airport ? I lived in Discovery Bay on Lantau Island years ago where private cars were not allowed and often wondered where in Hong Kong one could drive the many Porsches and Ferraris I would see.

                Hi Eryck,
As others have said... "that's a beautiful car"!!!
I'll bet your really going to enjoy it. Here it would turn a lot of heads, I bet in Hong Kong it'll turn almost EVERY head.
                Good Luck!
                Regards,

Sweet ride. I could not see anything wrong. I even followed along the pictures to check the "no shielding" which was soon answered with the interior view showing Radio Delete.

I too miss Hong Kong. Passed through on short visits many times in the 60's. Always had a great time shopping and dining. My last landing at I believe the old airport (Kia Tak??) about knocked my teeth out due to the down draft. I never experienced such a hard landing and I've flown on many aircraft - big and small.

Again, nice ride. Bet it's a fun car to drive there.

Surprisingly, there are many other roads to drive, to the national parks in the New Territories. That's where all the Porsches and Ferraris go. For classic cars, we just take it easy on the Southside, Stanely, Shek-O etc...

Thanks for asking Brian. The leak is not as big as thought but still a leak from the master cylinder. Will deal with it soon but am actively monitoring the situation!

Wow, that's quite a while ago....yes, that old airport was quite something. On landing, you can look out the window of the plane and actually see what people were watching on their TVs in their living rooms!

Jack, we were there last fall and my wife enjoyed the High tea service, while I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service.

Thanks for the confirmation, Don! I always wondered about various changes made when the colony reverted to Chinese ownership...

Now, maybe someone will comment on whether or not Gaddi's is still in business. That was, perhaps, the finest restaurant I've eaten at in any of my travels around the world!
