    71 LT-1 intake manifold gasket

What's the latest recommendation for this gasket (that is available)? Any comments on what others are using?

    Fel Pro 1204 standard.
Fel Pro 1205 with big ports.
Fel Pro 1206 with race ports.
Unless you are looking for an NCRS "correct" gasket?

Appearance wise, I thought I recall reading in some previous post that a "NCRS correct gasket" was not readily available. Is this the case?

Bob, I believe that paragon sells the correct repro. if its the same as my 72 sm block it has the correct color and humps in the gaskets that the judges look for.

Thanks, Ed. I noticed some gaskets that are offered, but didn't know about their appearance.

The Fel Pro Gasket Do Work But Are A Dead Ringer For The Judges(there A Blue Color), The Originals Were Dk. Gray And Had A Hump In Each Side Of The Gaskets.

I didn't get a chance to research these gaskets. Yesterday I was detailing the engine and needed to remove the right front intake bolt to install the AIR bracket and the bolt head turned off. I had to remove the intake to get the remaining bolt out. So, at this point I thiought I might as well get a decent looking gasket.

It looks like I'll probably go with the Paragon part unless any other suggestions.

I don't know if it is still the case, but the Paragon gaskets used to have a raised rib on the exposed tab that we look for. Try to flatten that rib. Maybe the back of a spoon would do the job, or squeeze between some flat surfaces. That rib is a dead give-away.

                  Good suggestion on rib. Thanks.

Other than NOS, the Paragon gaskets are as close as you can get. They do lack the tiny "GM" embossment on the tabs on the end seals. Even with NOS you have to get a real old NOS to match the originals, although later NOS do have the "GM" embossment on the end seals.
