Hi all;
Was a really crummy weather weekend here in NJ. I used the time to pull the headlight motors out of my 1963....the left hand one had just about stopped working... This was the first time that I have poked around in that space.. Interestingly enough, the motors appear to be original!! One is dated 12/62 and the other just has 63 in the date stamping space.. (the car is March 1963 build)... so I was happy to see that.
I've read through the archives threads on this topic.. based upon what I have read it would appear that one was rebuilt already (has what appears to be wheel bearing grease in it... a no-no as described) while the other appears to be original (white lithium grease).
I would like to rebuild these myself.. Can anyone point me to rebuilding/timing instructions?? Even an assembly diagram would be helpful. Evidently there was a Restorer article on this a while back.
Thanks!!
Joel
