I could not make it to the Lone star regional and was hoping that someone could post some pictures of the cars that attended, especially the 63s to 69s. Thanks in advance.

Re: Lone star regional
We went down Saturday and poked around for a while, but...I didn't take a single pic.A first for me.
The show field was quite small, compared to the usual place in Waco, so the car count was down considerably. There were some super sweet Mid-Years, tho. A little light on the Sharks...Joel Adams

I totally agree, Joel. I was yearning to see more 1968-1972s but I love the Lone Star Regionals and staff whether it be Killeen or Waco or where ever.- Top

Re: Lone star regional
Steve, you wouldn't want to see any of the pictures. The show was full of L88 Corvettes, they were all over the place. L88 after L88, row after row of them.
Actually, it was a great event even though we couldn't get as many cars in the Killeen facility. I believe that Ken Robb posted some shots in this forum.- Top

Re: Lone star regional
What? Did I miss something outside the building? I was there the entire time and I must have missed the "row after row" of L88s. I only saw one, back in the corner, entered by Terry Michaelis of ProTeam Corvettes. Terry had an employee bring three cars, one being the legendary L88 C3, to this meet. -Clark- Top

Re: Lone star regional
There were only about three '63s, a couple of '64s, five or so '65s, a couple of '66s, and ten '67s. I was mostly surprised at the relatively low numbers of C3s entered. I would guess judging by the lineup of rosettes on the table at the beginning of the banquet, that a full 2/3-3/4 of the cars entered received Top Flight. The quality was outstanding. -Clark- Top

If anyone wants a few more photos of the event I have about 10 to 15 I can share. Email me at ss396t6@sbcglobal.net

I had a great time there as well. The Texas chapter always serves as a great host. Thanks to all for putting together another really fine show.

Re: Lone star regional
I couldn't make it down there this year, but did go to the little Cowtown Corvettes show in Fort Worth on Saturday. There were only three c-2s and so I think they all got a plaque. Guess the rest of the c-2s were in Killeen. I'll look forward to it being back in Waco and mabe we'll get my brother's 72 ready by then.- Top

Re: Lone star regional
Joel,
Thank you for attending the Lone Star Regional last week.
I want to comment regarding your post about the size of the facility at the 2009 Lone Star Regional held in Killeen and "the car count being down considerably."
True, the facility at Killeen provided less indoor floorspace for staging the cars than at Waco; therefore, we had to limit the number of cars we placed on the judging field.
As for the registered car count, we had 83 cars registered for the 2008 event held in Waco and 76 registered for the 2009 event. We did not consider a 7 car reduction at Killeen in a facility that was certainly smaller than the one at Waco to be a significant decrease. Definitely not a show stopper.
I hope to see you at the Lone Star Regional in October 2011.
Best regards,- Top

Re: Lone star regional
Either the date was an oversight or more likely all the c-5 and c-6 owners just set a date most convenient for them.
