    74 rear bumper

Does anyone know what material is used as the insulator between the frame and the impact bar bracket? Also, I am looking for a picture of the insulator and of the impact bar stud and spacer, which I believe is used to connect the impact bar to the bracket?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: 74 rear bumper

I took one apart and I think the spacer was thin plastic. The impact device was a pin that went through a hole just like on the front bumper of a 73-74. I may have thease parts as I know I still have the heavy cast parts. If I find them I will take a picture. The parts should be shown in the AIM.

The "insulator" is a thin plastic piece, about the same material as the leaf spring liners.
I'm not sure if I have any pics of my bumper area while I was painting the car, but I'll look.

The insulators, GM #339169, were discontinued without supercession in January, 1982. I don't think they are reproduced. However, I think they could be rather easily fabricated.
