    62 Build Sheet

I never knew such a thing existed until purchasing my one owner 62. Apparently there was a 5 page form with one being a dealer copy that luckily found its way into the 62! I have copy 5 titled "regular order passenger" Not only does it show the colors, but all options, serial #, engine codes and build date. I've never heard anyone mention this before. Anyone seen one before?

I've added a photo of mine for those who have not seen one.

I have the carbons for my 1957 Chevrolet Nomad built at the Los Angeles (Van Nuys) assembly plant in April 1957. They were under the passenger side front carpet between the carpet and floor padding.

Bob, it is a valuable document. Essentially it's the holy grail of birth certificates. But, it is not the build sheet, I believe it's better than the build sheet as there is data on there that did not exist on the build sheet. Such as the actual build date, you can compare the real date to the Birthday Calculator and see what you get. Is the key code on your sheet. Also, there is a 6 digit number, on mine, in the upper left that is the same number on the original window sticker.

Saying that, you can now have a window sticker created with all the original data on it!

          Hi Harry

Thanks for the additional info especially about the number on the window sticker! I do have the key numbers and they are on the warranty book as well. Only one has been used and the second key has never even been punched out.

I like the term "birth certificate" as that more accurately describes the document

I have seen one for a 1963 that a friend owns. Very nice documentation.
