44 years ago today the Tangier Shrine 1966 Corvettes were delivered.
The Corvettes are on Market St. I know that most of us have seen this picture before but I think its a Great picture. It's from my Ed Tesky file.

I don't know if I have one, but the build date was Oct.6, 1965 and have no idea who the first owner was. I know I'm the last!

The "radio suppression unit" was part of the Shriner COPO package; note the number instead of a typical prefixed option code. It was only available as part of that COPO.

I own a trophy blue car that was born just before this photo date. The last part of the vin is 2999. I wonder if it was awaiting shipment, or already on the way to Western NY on this day. I assume it went by rail to Buffalo?

Lace -- Are you going to post the other shot, taken same day, under the bridge by the river's edge, with the RIVER QUEEN stern wheeler (?) in the background ?

To those who haven't seen the C2 Shriner cars, there's also pics of 1967 and 1965 (for the latter I have the original glossies sent to all who were there and the various VIPs).

I've never seen 1963's or 1964's .

Brian et al: great shot. I understand Kansas City Southern (or similar name) delivered many of our beloved toys to the confederate states, back then. And as shipper, they might have received a copy of the vehicle paperwork, for their insurance purposes (if I heard that right ).

Here's a few on truck transport, a couple of hours east of St.Louis at a truck stop on Hwy 50. Like your shot, looks like they mixed the Corvettes with other St. Louis product. By the window sticker on the orange LT1, you can figure it was late spring 1972.

I'm disappointed that for the 3_1/2 years that Dow-Smith bodies were shipped by rail from Ionia MI to St. Louis, that not more in-transit photos have surfaced.
