    1968 starter question

I'm trying to figure out if I have an original starter in my 1968 roadster three speed 327. Are there any distinguishing marks/numbers on the starter that would tell me if it is an original?

Correct starter for 327 with manual transmission should be 1108361. The date code will be a short series of numbers with a letter. The first number is the calendar year, second letter is the month of production, the final 2 digits are the day of the month.

              David my 68's original starter had a stamping of 1108361 and A 8 25. My 68 was built in FEB 1968. It is a 327/350HP M21 4-speed.
