Has anybody bought 235/60/15's for an 80-82?

My car, an 81 Vette, needs new tires and I'm favoring the Goodyear Eagle GT II's but Goodyear doesnt' seem to make them in 225/60 size only 235/60's, So is there much of a difference and what is it? a larger tire? lower profile? than the original 225's?? any input or pics appreciated.

The size you are calling for is odd. Your car should have come equipped with either a 225/70/15 (standard) or 255/60/15 (optional). Take a look at your tire pressure decal located on the driver's door to confirm which size your car came with. Chip.

Thanks Chip, You may have hit the nail on the head! and I worked for 5 years in a tire shop in New York City!! So I'm assuming Goodyear makes 255/60/15"s in the EAGLE GT II?

I feel sure you can. Go to tirerack.com and punch in the size you want for all available options. The Goodyear tire you mention would probably yeild maximum judging points for a replacement tire. Chip.
