Purchased New Exhaust Tips for my 72'

    Hey all ....

Just wanted to let you guys/gals know that Richard Fortier makes the damn nicest tips I have ever seen.
I will try to get some pictures posted after lunch.

I compared then to my original assembly line tips for weld locations, weld seam, metal thickness, entry spout welds and correct cut angles.

I also ordered the tips to have the correct chrome type and finish - dead on in opinion.

I know he does tips for 1970/early 71 as well.

Just wanted to pass on the info ........

I too got a set from Richard and they are great! Richard's shop is just about a 25 minute ride for me, so I have the luxury of visiting him on occasion. I want us all to know just how hard he worked at getting them bang on. I had some pics of original tips and shared them with him to help him develop a "just right" replication.

Not sure if he's doing the tips for '73's yet, but he said he was looking at doing them for '68/'69's next. I do other work with Richard and his attention to detail is exemplary of how it should be done.

I haven't installed them on my car yet. Was doing my research as to which exhaust system is best for the '72 SB application. Kinda torn between Corvette Central, Allen and Gardner. Edward, would you please share feedback on the Gardner system after you've installed it to your car?

                        Mike,

I would give Richard a call, there may be some information he needs to determine the final amount.

Don, I will let you know my thoughts on the system after my install,My talk with Eric was positive, My feeling is that this will be as correct as its going to get as far as the NCRS judging. Ive had a few posts reguarding his exhuast all were positive. and theres been much talk about it what system is best for judging.

Edward: Did you receive your Gardner system yet? I saw on this board that the Paragon system is providing challenges with tire clearance. I heard some decent things about the Allen system and the Corvette Central system too. My discussion with Eric (Gardner) was also positive, but am hoping to get some consumer feedback before pulling the trigger.

My objective is to install the best "judging" system (appearance and sound) but not one that'll rust. That said, I guess I'm looking for an aluminized or carbon/ss blend material in the pipes? Need help from you all, please. Thanks.

Don, I did receive my system from Gardner Exhaust, all look great, wrinkle bends on front pipe and rear under axle area, I presently have the transmisson out, and will install later and take pics.
