    Wheel Studs

I am in the process of restoring the front suspension of a 65 and currently working on front hub and rotor assembly. I have everything blasted and installed new studs but find the hub studs are very difficult to get through the rotor holes(original rotor). I pressed the new studs in but they appear to be pressing to the outer limits of the rotor holes. I can get them to together with a dead blow hammer, but that seems over kill. Anyone know what the center to center or outside to outside stud dimension should be. Measuring across the studs a different positions I can up with aproximately 4.98".

    thanks

    Dave

If you are saying the studs are slightly crooked and perhaps splayed outwards, then try this: Install a couple of thick washers over a stud and run a lug nut, installed upside down.... flat side towards the rotor, onto the stud. Torque the lug nut properly and then remove. If the stud is crooked, this will straighten it.
