    69 4spd shifter finishes

Im looking for a picture of the transmission with the shifter assembled to it to see all the correct finishes, including the neutral safety bracket, wiring colors, nuts and so on. Ready to mount the transmission and install the engine in the chassis.

I haven't installed my rebuilt shifter yet, but here is a photo. The shifter mechanism looks like it has a manganese phosphate coating. I sprayed CRC SP-400 on it after it was cleaned, greased with white lithium and re-assembled. The shifter bracket is semi-gloss black. The hardware is black oxide, except for the two special zinc-plated lock washers that mount the shifter to the bracket. The backup light switch appears to be cadmium, as is the Paragon replacement guard. The wires are red and green. It utilizes two bolts on the side transmission cover, which I believe are natural steel. At least mine are.

Dennis, Thanks for the info and the picture. I took some time off from my restoration, due to work , but now I'm back into it again. This will be very helpful.

Yeah, the one good thing about being out of work (self-employed) is you have plenty of time to spend on the car...nothing better to do. Money, of course, is another issue.
