Judging Question - '62 Trunk Floor

Page 23 of the '61-'62 TIMJG indicates that the right and left body mount metal access plates were "often pivoted away from the access hole during both priming and color painting process".....resulting in "often an unpainted area of the trunk floor the shape of the access cover plates".

Question: Do our judges expect to see this in every case and if they don't see it, the car should receive a deduction?.....or has it been established that there was an inconsistent pattern of handling this during the painting process resulting in some trunk floors fully painted and others not?

Many thanks for your help and advise.

Re: Judging Question - '62 Trunk Floor

    Hi Bill,

As you know I am not the final word on this, but I'd expect to possibly see a notation but no deduction. To me, the verbiage "often" gives the owner a strong footing to stand upon when arguing against any deduction. If the judge was unrelenting I'd take it up with the TL.

    All the best,
    Joel
