    Fuel gauge problems on C1

I had all of my gauges restored thru Ecklers this past year. My mechanic has been having problems with the fuel gauge working intermittently. He still thinks the gauge is malfunctioning. I know I have the option of sending the gauge back to Ecklers but does anyone have a name for a second opinion?
I really want to get my car back "on the road, again!" Singing music with friends!!!

Check the archives for fuel gauge info. Be sure the sender is properly grounded by running an additional ground wire from one of the sender mounting screws to a convenient point on the frame. Many fuel gauge problems are due to a bad ground.

C1's are a menace for reading incorrectly. Howard is correct bad ground is normally the problem. Run a separate wire. I have run out of gas like a looser that I am 3 times now. It's getting to the stage where I will keep a can i the trunk. I haven't had time to run a separate ground wire. Stewy

Thanks Louis!!! Excellent article. I've been having a problem with the back brake lights coming on by themselves and depleting the battery too. I feel certain this will solve the problem. A new switch was applied to the brake lights and the problem on that issue seems fixed for now on that front. I'll fax this to my mechanic now.

Thanks to all for all your suggestions and assistance,
            Valeria
