Could someone help me with my wiring delima ? I have a BB with petronix ignition , no ballast resistor ,and no TI . The car was born with a TI but was removed thru the years . What should I do with the 2 pink wires (shown in the pic ) , one from the ignition switch and one in the engine wiring harness ? Do I need to add a ballast resistor or can I just join those 2 pink wires ?

Re: 67 ignition wiring delima
The instructions that came with my pertronix says that if the coil resistance is less than 1.5 ohms to use a ballast resistor. My Pertronix is the firts design.
My after market coil is 0.6 ohm so I use the standard ballast resistor. A ballast resistor from a 63 (lower resistance) is in the cards to try.- Top

Re: 67 ignition wiring delima
For what its worth I have put a bunch of Pertronix units on Corvettes and have never left a resistor in place and that includes the GM models with a the resistor wire in the harness. It was my understanding the Pertronix module requires that the resistor be removed. Not sure if this changes what the coil requires. Years ago I called a Pertronix tech every time I installed a Pertronix unit. I described the exact application and every time they said remove the resistor. It was almost as if when I said Corvette they said to remove the resistor. They custom made me a unit to fit a 54 (before offering it in their catalog) and I'm 99% sure I removed the resistor on that one also but I also had to add a capacitor to the neg side of the coil because of the 5.2 volts required to fire that module.- Top
