    Thanks for any help,

All 1969 Corvette engines used a 195 degree thermostat. The current GM part number for that thermostat is GM #12514334.

You could also use a 180 degree thermostat of GM #10207381.

I do not recommend using a thermostat of any lower temp than 180 degrees.

      Joe,
Thanks for the response. I picked up a Delco Thermostat in the original box that is 195 degree with part number 3033797 at a yard sell and was wondering if this would have been used on my car.
      Thanks again for the information.

The original thermostat used in your car was GM #3156298. That part number was superceded SEVEN times before getting to the currently available GM #12514334 in July, 1994. However, GM #3033797 was not one of them. I can find no record of this part number. This part would date from ABOUT 1978. Given that, I should be able to find a record of it whether or not it was used in a Chevrolet application.

Since I can find no record, I suspect that this was a Delco Parts System-only piece, and I have no application information for it. Might it work for your application? Yes, it might. A photo of it might help in ID'ing it or, at least, ruling out that it could be used in your application.

Well, I hate to be "beaten" on a part number, so I did some more checking and I've now found the application for the GM #3033797. As I previously surmised, it is a Delco Parts System-only piece. The thing that stumped me is that I figured I should be able to cross-reference it into the GM parts system one way or another. Now I know why I could not. GM #3033797 is applicable to 1967+ Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth vehicles with V-8 engines and requiring a 195 degree thermostat.

So, how can this be if it has a GM part number? Well, as I mentioned, this is a Delco Parts System-only piece. Many parts in the Delco parts system have both a Delco "short" part number (in this case 131-9) and a GM "long" part number (in this case 3033797). However, the 3033797 part number will not be shown anywhere in the GM parts system since the GM parts system only supplies parts for GM-manufactured cars and trucks. The Delco parts system supplies parts for all major makes and models, GM and otherwise. In this case, it's "otherwise".

If you know anyone with a 67+ Chrysler Corporation product with V-8 engine and requiring a 195 degree thermostat, then you have the thermostat for them.
