Looking For 1100884 Alternator

All,
If anyone has a line on a 1100884 Alternator with a stamped build date prior to Feb 1970 could you please let me know.

This is for a 1970BB 454/390 with air build date 2/70

Mark,

I found mine at Corvettes at Carlisle last summer. You might want to drive down for the fall Carlisle swap meet, which started today, and runs thru Sunday. Unfortunately, the 884 is very hard to come by, and can be quite expensive. I believe that John Pirkle (alternator restorer) has a waiting list years long for this alternator. By the way, when you do find one I recommend you send it to John for restoration. He does a great job and is reasonably priced.

Thanks Ken, Unfortunatly I can't get to carlisle this year, but thats not the 1st time I've heard thats the place to find one......Maybe next time.

I have talked to John and are part of his waiting list.

Beware of restamps! Educate yourself to the nuiances of these units before you go shopping. There are counterfeits, that use later cases, floating around

Mark,I read a add in this months driveline, theres a member in there that has 100's of rebuildable cores to work with . you'll have to look through services and misc. section, thats where I saw the add.

Like Dick said, make sure it's not a restamp, ask the vendor for photos etc. and do your homework....
