    73 Carb advice

I am looking to get the correct carb back on my 73.
This carb has the correct numbers and date. I know very little about them. Does this carb look good, and what is the average price to get it restored?

    Thanks for your input

To replate and rebuild is probably gonna cost about $300 and will take many months by a competant carb restorer.

I had my 73 rebuilt by I think it was Lars a few yrs ago. He calibrates it on an engine.

He replated mine and did a great job, but any rust pits will still be clearly visible. There's not much he could do about that.

I would think 300.00 sounds to be in the ballpark for the resto. I sure wouldn't think it would take many months though. If you need a good carb shop, I'm in the Ohio area and have a great guy you can send it to.

I did mine about two years ago. Found the correct part number and date code on a old carb on eBay. Did not risk just dropping it on the engine without a carb kit and decided to send it out for a complete repair/restoration.

I think the carb was around $100.00 and the resto around $325.00. Went out to someone in CA and it did take about 2-3 months.

Results were fine. I would think it should be for a $425.00 Quadrajet carburetor.
