    Correct Starter for early 68 427/400 4-speed?

What is the correct starter for an early, first month of production, 1968 427/400 4-speed? Also, should it be a staggered bolt pattern or straight?

    Thanks,
    Rick L.

    Rick,

If you want the correct starter I would make contact with John Pirkle. You can get contact information for him on this website or in the Driveline. He should have all the information you need about bolt patterns and more importantly for judging purposes, the correct manufacturer and date codes.

The correct part # is 1107365. It should have a 2 bolt staggered pattern cast iron nose(drive end) The date should precede the assembly date of the car(most typically 2 to 8 weeks).Ncrs will accept out to 6 months.
