    Beauty Rings

I purchased a set of reproducction beauty rings from Paragon and tried to install them today. Had the two outer clips over the wheel ridge and the middle clip towards the inside of the wheel's rim edge. Used a rubber mallet but could not install the rings. I was afraid to hit the trim ring any harder.

    Am I missing something here?

    Any help is appreciated.

When I got reproduction trim ring last year the clips were way to curved in at the bottom to fit all four over the wheel rim at once to install. I bent them open with a vise grips and then had no problem. Even bent open slightly they still grip the wheel very tightly.

Check the rims for burs, nicks, ect., check clips as mentioned, the weights should be on rear of rim, use lube on clips to slide in place easier and be very careful if you need a rubber hammer, also when removing rings, use a tool on the CLIPS, and stay away from other area of rings, I use a rim off of the car to adjust, prefit or check before final installation. Fought with it, the first and only beauty ring for an hour. Clips will not bend to allow the outer clips to be on the wheel rim. Big PITA!

For what I spent I expect a better fit out of the box. Paragon gets them back.

I have a used set of trim rings for sale. 3 are perfect but the clips are not in the proper position for judging. The 4th one has some scratches on it which can be fixed.

              Erv,

Check with Rick Miller. He sometimes has a set on ebay and sells under georicks. He also advertises in the driveline.

They will set you back a pretty penny. I stopped with repops for the same reason. There is always something. Unless I have no choice.
