    70 HeadLights Light

On my 70 the Headlights light on the dashboard says on when the Headlights are up. I was told that it should turn off when the Headlight are in there full upright position. My drivers side Headlight is 1/4 inch lower in the up position. I see that there are 2 switches one on each Headlight bucket. The passenger side touches the switch in the on position. The drivers does not. Are those switches responsible for the light going out? It seems as if there is no adjustment on those switches? I am missing a stop bumper on my drivers side would these correct the problem?

Yes, BOTH switches must be depressed to go 'open circuit' and extinguish the HL warning light in the cockpit. Your copy of the AIM or the Chassis Service Manual provides instructions as to what adjustment(s) do what function on the HL doors.

One point of caution... The micro switches are plastic and probably aged/brittle with time. Do NOT grab/pull on them! That typically results in breakage...

Pull the wire off the switch (VERY CAREFULLY). With both wires off the light will go out. Connect one then the other. Whichever connection lights the light, that's the one that needs to be addressed. Hope this makes sense.
