    Re: Electronic Ignition for my 1960 FI

    The 7320 unit is a nice reliable fuel injection. Properly updated and restored there is no reason to put on an unreliable carburetor. Now if you had a 57 '4360 like BB here then you might want to use a carb. LOL.
    FI distributors: While you are still able you had better run to your NAPA, etc store and stock up on some points and rotors as probably tomorrow or so they will be history like everything else.
    (Just lost my favorite cam you know. No more Speed Pro CS113R. History.)
    We use CS786P from NAPA on 58 to 65 FI. No problems at all. Now if you use the POC DR points then expect trouble.
    But if you insist use the one wire setup from Lectric Limited, etc.
    Watch out though for those nebby judges like the one from MD who lifts distributor doors and peeks in though to see if you are cheating!!! JD

      Markus,
      One more suggestion - if you have installed a set of the reproduction spark plug wires I would be very suspicious of them. I installed a set on my '57 FI passenger car and it ran fine. About 3 years later I fired it up to move it - not having touched the wires in the interim - and it wouldn't run worth a darn. After replacing points and condenser and trying a known good coil I finally substituted a set of cheap spiral core replacement wires just to see what would happen and the engine ran fine. This is the second set of carbon wick style spark plug wires that have gone bad on me. In my opinion the wire they use to make the repro spark plug wire sets is junk.

        I installed the breakerless SE in my 67 300 HP car and it works great. It's like driving with new points all the time and very easy to install.

        Cleaned a set of AC44's also in the same engine and does not miss a beat..

          John DG;
          Ain't it pretty, look at picture.
          1000 miles on it, starts every time hot or cold.
          My 889 distributor still has points and works perfectly.
          Ignore the brown paper on the steering column.
