I am having my AC rebuilt from the compressor to drier to the STV valve and hoses. It was suggested that the hoses be crimped instead of the original using the original clamps. Does this hurt the value of the car or the judging of the car. I have been keeping the car in stock condition using certified reproduction parts or having the original parts rebuilt when possible. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Re: 1964 AC Compressor Hose
It would (should at least) affect judging as the configuration of that part of the system would be changed. Also the aluminum plate the hose attaches to is unique.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: 1964 AC Compressor Hose
Thanks Chris for the help. If I have a choice I guess I'll go with R12 so I can keep the original look to my car. She is one of a rare breed out there that has not had a full restoration. I have had the front end rebuilt, now the AC. I don't know how much longer I can hold out. I'm getting weak, tired, broke.- Top
