Gary, do you happen to know the paint color on that car. I know of a '56 out in Nevada that had a VIN in the 1600 range. it was factory black paint finish. Sound like a possible match?

What a great opportunity for someone! Hope you find this individual. That news would absolutely make my day. I only wish that was my VIN because any and all history on my car before 1980 is long gone. The only owner that could have offered even a partial clue has passed away and took all info and secrets to his grave.

Nobody likes a wise-a, but if you just happen to have my documentation including original bill of sale, registration info, titles, previous owner history, repair records, mileage logs, pictures, or ANYTHING AT ALL just laying around for my 56 VIN 4399, I'd really appreciate it! Shoot, I'd even PAY you for it! I know....wishful thinking.
