Question on installing new oil pressure line in a '66...

I've got a new oil pressure line an correct fittings for my '66, but I am not sure how you install the fittings. The fittings did not come installed on the line so they just slide over the tubing. I assume there needs to be some sort of flare done to the end of the line once you slide the fittings on, but I am not sure how this should be done. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Steve

These are a compression-type fitting. No flare is required or should be performed.

Also, make very sure you have the tube going into the gage bottomed out before tightening the fitting. Did you get the s/s tubing, I hope. Bill.

Are the SS lines you refer to magnetic? Judges have been known to check for the correct copper=plated steel versions unless it's a bigblock, then they just look for steel....

          Bill -

I've never seen a stainless steel oil pressure line; doesn't sound like a suitable material for that application.

Oh man, I didn't realize it was that simple. The line is a "correct" reproduction '66 BB line, so no stainless here.

            Thanks for the advise!
