    New Employee

Would like an explanation why Loren's thread was closed. Is this not still the USA? Has freedom of speech been banned and I missed it? I guess I missed something cause it sounded to me like he was asking a question making a character assasination.

      Con Law 101...

Re-read that 1st amendment to the Constitution. I think you'll find it's structured this way: "Congress shall make no law..."

The issue of whether or not US citizens have freedom of speech as it pertains to their private employer(s), private clubs and organizations has been ruled on by the Supreme Court. Bottom line we do NOT have freedom of speech in that regard.

Yes, you can stand up in public forum, take various positions on a given issue, be fired by your private employer for your attitude/belief and you have no recourse. But, if you're a school teacher (employed by the State), you DO have that freedom...

        Re: New Employee

I am , of course, overwhelmed by the logic/pleadings of Mr. Humphrey, who conveniently ignores the main question of my query: What indeed occurred in the past year that suddenly had the NCRS Board seeking the head of the NCRS Board on a stick after _______years of service in the position?
A decision, I would note, that was quickly abandoned when Mr. Sinor effectively declined, saying, in effect, "I deserve better than that. Use the Bylaws and make your case and I will defend myself.".
I make that claim as NOT a disciple of Roy Sinor - he and I have clashed on a number of issues, but, always, when it was over, we took the stand of "I've had my say, and the argument is over.".
I can recite the following only as it was recited to me/others on another Board by a longtime and respected NCRS member with respect to why my statement was closed by Mr. Chestnut, whom I have never met - the statement, without quotes, was to the effect that it was widely known that the source of the Sinor resignation move was Mr. Chestnut.
For that same reason, this may be a short-lived message. I know that it will not be commented upon by Mr Sinor - it's over by his view.
But I have to ask why an organization that functions ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL KNOWN IN THE AUTO HOBBY ABOUT THE CAR AND ITS DETAILS does the absolute worst in communicating about the day-to-day functioning of the club.
Are the rumors true? Are we really 30 years OVERDUE for an outside financial audit?

          Re: New Employee

          Loren,

It is disappointing to see a member, particularly a long time member, who feels compelled to repeatedly use a technical discussion board as a forum to post personal opinions, criticisms, and misinformation about the NCRS and fellow members. As a former board member yourself, you know that the 'head of NCRS' is the president, Vito Cimilluca, and Roy is the one employee responsible for all things related to judging. You are misinformed regarding the role you attribute to Gary Chesnut. It isn't clear whether you believe meeting you in person would provide more credibility but Gary has attended many chapter, region, and national events over the years so someone who attended events on a regular basis would have had the opportunity to have a face to face conversation with him. You and I may agree about the level of communication but, if you want some information, your regional director, Ed Vignone, would be the appropriate point of contact and the same holds true for any 'rumors' or information on audits.

This thread is not going to be deleted by me but it will be closed because of the non technical nature. If you want to discuss any of the content of this posting, call me at (360) 896 - 5334 and I will be glad to have a conversation with you.
