    70 metal fuel lines

Quick question. Would I find and black paint on any of the metal fuel lines?

Is there any black paint or substance where the rubber lines connect that go to the fuel pump?

I am slowly removing the black paint the previous owner so liberally sprayed everywhere

    Thanks,

    Bill

Bill, there was no black paint on the fuel lines on frame rails, there may be some undercoating spray on lines at rear of wheel openings if you car has shoulder belt harness brackets

John, the reinforcemnt brackets for the shoulder harnesses are in wheel wells rear, and they are undercoated-sloppy, the fuel line rest on the top of frame rail which sometimes gets the overspray .I beleive in 70 shoulder harnesses were a opition on coupe and conv.

The wheel wells were undercoated (and blacked out) in the Paint Shop, long before the body ever met the chassis at Body Drop; there would be no undercoating on the chassis.

John, Pg.109 Of The 70-72 Judging Manual. States, No Paint On Line But May Have Some Undercoating Overspray In The Wheel Well Area. Maybe Its Wrong. Was Stating Per Manual.

The manual is correct ("....no paint on line"), as the line (and the chassis it's attached to) weren't present when the undercoat was applied in the wheel wells in the Paint Shop.

I was responding to your post where you stated "..the fuel line rest on the top of frame rail which sometimes gets the overspray".
